Nicene Creed with Apostles’ Creed
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds existed and through whom all things were made.
We believe that the Lord Jesus is God begotten from God, Light from Light, very God from very God; begotten, not made, of one substance with the Father.
We believe that the Lord Jesus, for us human beings and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was made into a real human being by the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary.
We believe that the Lord Jesus was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered, died, and was buried. He descended into Hades and on the third day He rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven, and now sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; and He will come from there again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
We also believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is worshipped and glorified, together with Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets.
We further believe in one holy, universal Church, based on the apostles’ teaching; we believe in the communion of saints.
We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins and we look for the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting of the world to come. Amen.
